After a poor start to his APAC career, Jacob ‘yay‘ Whittaker has been removed from the BLEED starting roster for stage 2 of VCT Pacific.

After joining for a large undisclosed amount at the start of the year, yay has had what some would say a shocking start to his VCT career with only 1 win in the 8 games he has played alongside his BLEED team mates.

Despite bringing in Zest from DRX, they had a huge struggle with getting wins with their only win of the season coming against DetonatioN FocusMe who went 0-9 in regular games last year whilst being labelled the worst team in franchising.

In the tweet above, it is stated that it was yay himself that has made this decision whilst it is stated that health reasons are the main priority he is taking on at the moment rather than forcing himself to play through difficulties.

yay did mention in a tweet from his account earlier in the season:

not sure what happened that last series. ive never had my vision start becoming blurry during a game. there were people on my screen sometimes and I didnt even react. and the worst part is I have no idea what caused it

This was in response to a few rounds where he was holding the AWP on Icebox where he had a straight on clean shot however he didnt take it and fell back.

Fans were wondering where the yay that they saw dominate in 2022 went and the reasons for it were unknown until the tweet made from his account.

There has been no official response from BLEED as to who will be replacing him on the roster but the leaks show that crazyguy will return to the starting roster after being benched for Zest at the start of Stage 1.

There was a lot of tension between crazyguy and yay on Reddit before this decision which leads fans to believe that the team culture could have become toxic between the two stars with yay saying that crazyguy should have been removed from the organisation.

It is unknown if yay will return to the roster or not, however, his start in Asia has not gone to plan and if he wants to return to the top of VALORANT once again, his best bet is back in NA.
