A rejuvenated Team Liquid commence their VCT season with a confident win over Movistar KOI in a 2-1 series.
Keiko starred in this series with his new role, Controller, fitting his play style where he is able to frag out whilst supporting his team with utility and smokes.
Team Liquid came into this year making three changes from last years roster, removing Enzo, Mistic and Jamppi and replacing them with former FNATIC kamyk, former Team Heretics paTiTek and KOI kamo.
Kamo returned to his former roster after removing him last season after a rather poor year considering the expectations for the roster and finds himself on the winning roster this time.
KOI made three changes also keeping a hold of Sheydos and grubinho, removing Kamo, Starxo and ShadoW replacing them with former APEKS Soulcas, VCL EMEA Filu and former MxS flyuh from VCL NA.

Despite all the changes, Keiko showed why he was kept on the Team Liquid roster despite the changes, dropping 65 kills across the three maps and earning himself a 1.52 rating for this series including a crucial ace on Bind to send the win their way.
In Keiko’s play you can still see glimpses of his previous duelist play from last years Team Liquid roster where he debuted in VCT EMEA with 37 kills in his first map.
With help from the entire team, Team Liquid ended taking the W home and advancing through the upper bracket and will face off against FUT Esports who haven’t made major changes and are also big favourites to make it to Masters Bangkok from VCT EMEA.
Movistar KOI have been dropped down into the lower bracket and will be forced to play with a burden on their shoulders of one loss and they are out of play for two months. They will go on to face either Team Heretics or Gentle M8/APEKS.
