The favourites to go to Bangkok from VCT Americas, NRG, have been shocked by Cloud9 with a comfortable 2-0 defeat.

After winning SOOP Valorant league in the off-season, NRG were looking comfortable favourites coming into their first match of the season.

Especially with Cloud9 making TWO last minute roster changes replacing moose and Rossy with Mitch and neT just before the start of the season.

Despite this, Xeppaa came into the series with a vengeance and dropped 54 kills across the two maps against the favourites of VCT Americas.

Usually with Cloud9, OXY takes charge of the frags for the team and dives into site with multi kills. Highlighted in the game with OXY leading the all time ace total for VCT Americas (4). However this time, Xeppaa showed why he’s been in VCT for this long with his fragging potential.

After this win, Cloud9 go on to face G2 in the upper rounds whilst NRG will go to face a tough game against either 100Thieves or Sentinels who play on Saturday.

The game between NRG and 100T/SEN could see one of the big hitters of VCT Americas go home after only two games of kick-off.
