Two heavy hitters of VCT EMEA faced off in the Upper quarter finals of VCT EMEA Kick-Off with Team Vitality coming out on top.

One of VCT’s Superteams, Team Vitality showed why they have been given that title with a close match against a booming Karmine Corp.

After signing Derke from FNATIC for their Duelist role and Less for their Sentinel role, they have created a squad to strike fear in opposition teams.

Signing the best Sentinel in VCT history alongside a top 3 Duelist of all time put Vitality into a different league than last year after being a team that made it far in VCT despite the challenges they faced.

Derke showed why he was signed during this series by dropping 66 kills across the three maps and closing out the decider map, Abyss, with 32 kills controlling the game to his liking.

Fans were worried with Sayf taking up a new role of IGL and going up against one of the GOAT IGL’s in VALORANT history, however it seemed that the set plays shown by Team Vitality were enough to show why they are rated so highly.

The game between KC and NaVi also gave Vitality some VOD’s to watch back and possibly plan against with them taking Haven comfortably 13-5 after using the FNATIC comp with Iso and Yoru double duelist.

This is the first time in Less’ career that he is playing on a non-Brazilian speaking team with his entire VCT career being at LOUD under a full Brazilian side.

This was seen with pANcada under Sentinels where he had problems showing why he was a world champion and fans were hoping that this isn’t the same for Less and he seems hopeful that it isnt true also.

This win sends Team Vitality straight into the upper semi-finals of kick-off where they will face the winner of Team Liquid vs FUT Esports where they should still be favourites with either team they face.

This loss sent KC down to the Lower Bracket and will now face off against GIANTX where they are confidently favourites after such a poor showing against BBL Esports at the start of kick-off.
