Rex Regum Qeon open up their season with a win over a DFM squad that had a lot of hype across APAC fans ahead of this season.

RRQ coming into the series weren’t far off from contention for this game, as far as odds go, however, DFM were definitely the favourites considering their off-season results and the hype covering their star Duelist player Meiy.

Jemkin had a series to remember this matchup dropping 70 kills across three maps whilst destroying DFM.

Map 1, Abyss, was a close fought battle between the two Jett’s and Meiy came out on top dropping 32 kills and dominating the map, whilst Jemkin had 25 kills and was helping his team keep in the game however, the overtime 14-12 went the way of the Japanese side.

The remaining maps went completely in RRQ’s favour and 13-3 in both maps, making Jemkin the standout for this series making him near unstoppable in their opening match, making a bright future a possibility for RRQ this year.

RRQ will now go on to face off against Gen G in the Upper quarter finals looking to carry on their form and take out one of the giants of APAC.

Whilst DFM now are in the lower bracket and will need to win 5 games in a row to make it to Masters Bangkok as their first matchup will be against the loser of Talon vs Global Esports whilst they hope for a return of form for their entire team.
