After being taken down to the Lower Brackets by LOUD, Evil Geniuses have bounced back and become the team to eliminate the first team from VCT Americas Kick-Off.

FURIA coming off of the back of a poor performance against Leviatan, they were hoping to show the lengths of their full roster, since their first game of VCT kick-off they had fielded a substitute roster full of NA Tier 2 talents where they dominated 2G Esports.

They both came into this match knowing one team was going home. That team ended up being FURIA after a devastating 2-0 loss where they couldn’t really get a grip of the series.

EG’s icy topped the leaderboard with 38 kills showing why EG picked him up as the solo duelist for the side depsite having Masters winner, yay, on the roster.

In Evil Geniuses opening match up, they faced off against LOUD where yay picked up his famous Chamber, and Pheonix, which ultimately ended in a 2-0 loss for the side.

This series, yay picked up the more traditional role of Astra and Killjoy being a site anchor on defence whilst also picking up the AWP on attack, which he was most famous for in his career.

There is also a duo forming with yay and icy on Evil Geniuses, where it feels like if they are left in a clutch, the odds are always on them no matter the numbers in the opposing team.

With this win, Evil Geniuses go on to face off against the winner of Cloud9 vs MIBR and fans could possibly see the rematch of yay vs aspas however, this time in very different circumstances.

Whilst this loss means advancement for EG, it is the end of Kick-Off for FURIA and they are out of VCT for 2 months, until the start of VCT Americas Stage 1.
