After building a super-team of some sort in the off-season, T1 came into VCT Pacific Kick-Off with a heavy burden on their shoulders to be the favourites to win the entire tournament and make it to Masters Bangkok after winning RedBull Homeground in the Off-Season.

However, their Korean counter-parts DRX, stopped them at the final hurdle taking the victory in the Grand Final after going all five maps and going all 24 rounds on Split to take home the first trophy in APAC franchising.

DRX weren’t on many fans radar throughout the off-season until they made a last minute change to their roster bringing back BeYN to their starting roster despite moving him to the academy roster during the off-season.

They removed BuZz from their roster at the end of last season, which many fans were surprised by due to his tenure and his technical ability throughout VALORANT, and T1 didnt waste a moment to snap him up.

They made the right decision as he topped the leaderboard by a mile with 101 kills across the 5 map thriller in APAC being one of the first 5 players to break the 100 frag mark in franchising history.

Despite dropping crazy numbers, it wasn’t enough to beat his old roster, whilst their team work and overall fragging was enough to take down BuZz and earn the number 1 seed going into VCT Masters Bangkok.

They managed to take the title of Kings of APAC with a flawless run not losing once taking out teams like GenG, T1 and Nongshim along the way.

This win sends them into Masters Bangkok as first seed from APAC where they will face the second place tie of another region. They will face off against either:

2nd Place Americas – Sentinels

2nd Place EMEA – Loser of Team Vitality vs Team Liquid

2nd Place China – Trace Esports

This loss for T1 will see them face off against one of the winners of the regions across VCT. These will be either:

1st Place Americas – G2

1st Place EMEA – Winner of Team Vitality vs Team Liquid

1st Place China – Edward Gaming
