In a matchup between the ‘Super Team‘ of Americas and the ‘Super Team’ of EMEA, the American side came out on top without really breaking a sweat going 2-0 in the series.

Despite coming into the year as favourites, G2 still were not overall favourites to win this series as many pros including; Johnqt, Zekken and TenZ have said that Team Vitality are probably favourites to win Masters Bangkok, through their current form with Less and Derke really coming to life in these series.

However, it seemed that the lack of a natural IGL in Sayf, led to their downfall as Valyn was able to out call the Swedish superstar and bring his team over the end in a 2-0 comfortable victory with an impressive comeback on Bind.

Despite dropping a THIRD tournament ace, Derke dropped only 38 kills and was blown off the top of the leader board by G2 leaf’s 52 frags across the two maps, showing his form that carried them into Masters Bangkok in the first place.

If leaf can carry this form into tomorrows game against Edward Gaming, they can put up a real fight this time and possibly knock the World Champions into the Lower bracket where they would have to fight for the right to face off against G2 again in the Grand Finals.

With this win over Team Vitality, G2 will go on to rematch against EDG who they recently lost 2-1 to in the Swiss Stage of this Masters, where G2 leaf, had a very uncharacteristic of a poor performance going -17 across the three maps which was the polar opposite in this series against Team Vitality after going +17.

This loss sends Team Vitality into the Lower Bracket and will face off against T1 to see who will be the next team to be dropped from this tournament and will go out in 4th place.
