After knocking NRG down to the lower brackets in the Americas VCT Kick-Off tournament, Cloud9 have started strong once again against NRG taking them down 2-1 in an upset game.
Cloud9 kicked off Stage 1 of VCT in the Americas region with a win over NRG, which would normally be seen as a huge upset with the pedigree of the NRG lineup compared to Cloud9’s however, it recent times, C9 seem to always have the upper hand on them.

This game seemed to just be a repeat of the Kick-Off matchup between the two sides where Xeppaa went ballistic, and once again he topped the scoreboard on that Flex role he has become so notorious for.
The NRG roster has changed since there last matchup, however it seemed to not mean much in the overall series since the result stayed the same after removing Verno from their roster.
Despite not winning, NRG showed some signs of life with s0m still fragging heavy on the controller role and their new Initiator player, brawk, dropping 44 kills, the same as mada, in the series.

WHAT DOES THIS MEAN FOR CLOWN9
The MVP of the series, Xeppaa, tweeted the above poking fun at NRG as they seem to always have the upper hand over them.
Cloud9 now move onto Leviatan next week in VCT Americas where they will look to continue their strong start in Stage 1 whilst NRG will look towards FURIA, who are looked at as one of the worse teams in VCT Americas at this point in the stage as they have had to make a forced change in the off-season.
