After ending Masters Bangkok in second place, the most anticipated team of VCT 2025, G2, have returned to VCT Americas with a 2-0 stomping of FURIA.
Despite starting off the series slowly, going 0-8 on the defence side of Lotus, they regained control and ended the map 13-10, with the remainder rounds going 13-2 which is something true to G2 as a team this year. If they turn up as a team, they can roll over teams like they are nothing.
They took Ascent 13-7 with relative ease, showcasing a debut for Waylay on Jawgemo, which most fans were expecting as Waylay fits perfectly with Jawgemos play style and his raw aim and movement being the reason why he is rated as one of the best players in the world.

jawgemo ended the series with MVP on the duelist role, running the Yoru and Waylay across the two maps. However, his 37 kills was matched by his teammate leaf, who has become a player that frags out heavy on the sentinel role whilst also holding down the site with a solid hold.
Despite coming back to Americas without a trophy yet again, G2 are still unanimously one of the best teams in the world and some people are even still saying that they are the best team since, in the final of Masters Bangkok, T1 showed over 100% of their potential.

G2 were the first team to debut Waylay in VCT Americas and jawgemo did her correctly dropping 20 kills on the Ascent on her showing that with the right player, Waylay is viable in today’s meta.
After this win, G2 will go on to face off against MIBR, which could end up being one of the best games of VCT Americas this year with Aspas leading MIBR into success, and the strong core of Valyn, Trent and JonahP still performing 4 years into their VCT debut.
FURIA will look towards NRG Esports who aren’t looking as good as fans were wanting from the experienced side, giving hope to the FURIA fans who could see a win coming their way through the means of NRG next week in VCT Americas Stage 1.
