The two titans of Group Omega battled it out on Week 2 of Stage 1 in the Americas with the NA side G2 coming out on top after a rough 3 map series.
Both teams were looking very strong coming into Stage 1, with G2 coming off the back of a second place finish at Masters Bangkok, and MIBR making a crucial change adding firepower to their roster that already contained aspas in the form of Verno.
Waylay has not been a very popular agent across VCT so far, however, G2 and MIBR seem to be fans of the new Duelist agent opting to add in Waylay on aspas and Jawgemo at least once each within the nail biting series.

jawgemo earned the MVP for this series with 64 kills across the three maps of Pearl, Haven and Ascent. He opted to go for the Yoru and Waylay, with Waylay being played on the Ascent for G2, proving that the agent has a place in the current meta, despite criticism from teams and pros.
leaf also stepped up this series on the Vyse, dropping 58 kills and earning himself the highest vlr.gg rating of 1.25 whilst hard anchoring and outperforming the breakout star of MIBR, cortezia.
Verno also seems to be settling in well for the new Brazilian team, dropping 54 frags on the losing side, topping the leaderboard for MIBR, showcasing why they picked him up. His firepower, for an Initiator player, is through the roof.

Despite being up against aspas, jawgemo performed to a super high level all year long, throwing back to his time on the EG roster that won him Champions and put him name in VALORANT history.
G2 are still undefeated in the Americas region this year, with their only losses coming from Edward Gaming and T1 in Masters Bangkok. They will face off against NRG next week, looking to continue their unbeaten run in their regional league.
MIBR will look to return to their winning streak against Cloud9 next week hoping to make play-offs in group Omega ahead of the other teams who are struggling for wins this year.
