In a clash of titans that lived up to the hype, Fnatic edged past Team Vitality 2-1 in their VCT EMEA 2025 Stage 1 group stage matchup on April 4th. The series was a rollercoaster of momentum swings, individual brilliance, and tactical adaptation — with FNATIC ultimately reinforcing their status as one of the region’s elite.
Alfajer and Chronicle stepped up with clutch multi-kills to keep FNATIC alive. With the match locked at 12-12, overtime was inevitable. In classic Fnatic fashion, Boaster topped the leaderboard and ended the map on 29 frags which meant for nothing as they lost the series in the end of a triple overtime going 18-16 in Vitalitys favour.

Despite leaving FNATIC for a new start and looking to shine on a whole new roster, Derke was the worst performing player on Team Vitality, dropping only 42 frags across the three maps whilst his old IGL, Boaster, who is known for a low fragging, dropped 54 kills which helped his team cross the finish line and take the win.
Fnatic’s ability to bounce back after a map loss continues to be their trademark. While Vitality showed flashes of brilliance and solid teamwork on Split, they couldn’t maintain the intensity on Lotus. FNATIC now look firmly in control of their group, while Vitality will be left to regroup and prepare for the road ahead.
