Leviatan have recorded their first win of Stage 1 and their Second win of VCT 2025 in the Americas league and it is against the same team for both wins.
FURIA have had a rough start to their 2025 after being forced to find a replacement for mwzera after he had to step away for medical reasons, they seemed to just go downhill after that despite looking strong in their off-season performance against the other Brazilian teams.
Both teams came into this series with a poor record being 0-2 after being dominated by both of their opponents. Leviatan were still favourites coming into this series however, with having c0m and Demon1 on their roster being world Champions.

Demon1 received the MVP of this series on his new Controller role, playing the Omen and the Astra across the two maps. He took up this role after bombing out of Kick-Off on the duelist role, with kiNgg taking up the Duelist role playing the Waylay and Yoru on the new meta.
Their new IGL, Rossy, was on the initiator role alongside C0M who is famous for his Initiator performance that won Evil Geniuses their World Championship.
They took Ascent 13-4 and then Pearl 13-5, utterly dominating FURIA in this series proving that they are able to play to the standard that is expected of them, despite it being against the statistically worst team in VCT this year.
Fans also noticed that their Ascent comp was the composition that G2 were using that beat NRG 13-6 with the Waylay and Tejo being utilised in comparison to FURIA who opted for Yoru and Sova, which was seen as a ‘comp diff’ in VCT fans eyes.

The clip above was the final round of Ascent which pretty much summed up FURIA’s performance throughout the series, with a 3v1 against LEV C0M which shouldve seen FURIA’s 5th round of the map, going the way of LEV whilst he giggled B Main despite the spike not being planted yet.
With this win, LEV go 1-2 in Group Omega with their chances of Play-offs being more possible, matching records with NRG, where their best chance to make it to play-offs will be to beat NRG in the final match of VCT Americas Stage 1.
FURIA, with their chances of playoffs looking slim, will look to get their first win of 2025 on the board against Cloud9 next week who are second in Group Omega.
