The current Champions holder, Edward Gaming have been eliminated from Champions Paris with an abysmal 0-2 record trying to defend their title.
The Champs curse will always prevail with this years curse coming to EDG and their initiator player, s1mon, getting dropped after their poor start to the season due to ‘personal reasons’. They picked up Jieni7 who has somewhat thrown their team comps into disarray with Smoggy picking up initiator halfway through the season, but eventually choosing to end up with a double duelist comp for Champs with Zmjjkk on the duelist.

nAts earned the MVP for his performance on his famous Sentinel role, dropping 60 frags going +23 across the series whilst IGL’ing his team to victory. After an unusually bad series from Keiko, nAts picked up the fragging department and carried his side over to victory with some incredible rounds making a victory out of a very tough opponent.
As usual, ZmjjKK took the top spot on the side of EDG, however, it didn’t lead to much as they he managed 13 first kills but he also went down 14 times first making this series especially rough for him to take over like he does in so many other series.
With EDG going out of Champions, there will be guaranteed a new organisation to lift the trophy with only MIBR aspas, NRG Ethan and G2 Jawgemo being the players with a previous Champions win under their belt.
Team Liquid will now look ahead to their must-win rematch against DRX where the winner will go to play-offs and the losers year will end on that series.
