The EMEA First Seeded side, Team Liquid, have been bested by DRX once again at Champions Paris, despite having time to prepare for the rematch, it seemed DRX had more in their back pocket than originally thought.
TL and DRX are the two teams across VCT that have had the most inconsistent rosters throughout the year, with each of them making changes at the start/end of every Stage. With Team Liquid keeping their core 4 players, DRX switched around with a core of 3 players.
Another shock change that came at the start of this series, was nAts, the famous Cypher and lurking IGL picking Waylay on Corrode, mirroring DRX’s composition and trying to directly match their style. Despite how hype it was to see nAts play his first game on duelist after 505 games without, it didnt end well for Team Liquid with a 13-8 map loss for the side.
It then went to Abyss, a map that DRX are historically very good at, and a map that Team Liquid aren’t so good at. It was a direct rematch from their first series at Champions Paris with DRX taking that one 13-8. It ended even worse for them in this series losing Abyss 13-7 and dropping out of Champions Paris.

Flashback took the top of the scoreboard for this series, but many would argue that it was HYUNMIN who deserved the MVP for the series with his countless magic rounds where he was able to drop 3k’s after 3’ks to secure the round including the final round of the series on Abyss where he killed 4 of Team Liquid with some incredible shots on the Waylay.
Like much of 2025, Keiko was the standout for this series against Abyss, being the only Team Liquid player to go positive and still showing that his controller/ flex is one of the best in the world.
DRX will now look towards Play-Offs after rightfully earning their spot, where they will hope to break their curse of 5-6th place DRX. Team Liquid however, will now look towards the new season in 2026 where changes will most likely be made to their roster despite their mad success this year, taking home Stage 2 EMEA 1st place and making it to every international.
