Xi Lai gaming end their champions run at the group stage alongside all of their fellow Chinese representatives, EDG, DRG and BiliBili Gaming.

The series began on Bind, where XLG jumped out to an early lead. NoMan’s Skye set the tone in the pistol, and Rarga quickly built momentum with eco frags and an early ultimate. After converting their bonus round, XLG surged ahead and closed the half with an 8-4 advantage. GX fought back thanks to ara’s Operator impact and clutch plays from westside, Cloud, and grubinho, slowly chipping away at the deficit. Despite XLG’s strong reads and Rarga’s heroics, GX forced the game into overtime and ara sealed the map 14-12 to give his team the edge.

On Ascent, both sides stuck to the standard Jett-KAY/O-Cypher composition. GX opened with a flawless pistol win, but XLG found success midway through the half with standout moments from coconut and NoMan, along with a highlight triple kill from happywei tucked into wine. They entered halftime up 7-5, but GX flipped the momentum after the break. Cloud’s pistol double sparked their comeback, and from there, ara and Flickless delivered in the clutch. GX closed out Ascent 13-10, completing the 2-0 sweep.

The series MVP was without doubt ara, who overcame an illness he was battling prior to Champions Paris to post a 1.53 rating with 54 kills, +23 differential, and 13 first bloods across two maps. His performance carried GIANTX into the playoff stage, while XLG bowed out of the competition.

With this result, GIANTX secure their place in the Valorant Champions 2025 playoffs, while VCT China ends the year without a team advancing past groups—just one year removed from EDward Gaming’s historic 2024 title run.
