Envy opened their VCT Americas Kickoff campaign with a resilient 2–1 victory over Evil Geniuses, overcoming a slow start to take control of the series and move forward in the upper bracket. In what was the first meeting between the two teams this season, the match showcased early nerves, sharp mid-series adjustments, and Envy’s ability to close when it mattered most.

Evil Geniuses struck first on Abyss, setting the tempo with confident attacking rounds and well-timed utility usage that kept Envy on the back foot. EG consistently found opening picks and converted key rounds to build momentum, limiting Envy’s opportunities to stabilize. Despite flashes of individual brilliance from Envy, EG maintained control and secured the opening map to take a 1–0 series lead.

Envy responded on Corrode with a much more composed performance. Their defensive setups were tighter, rotations were cleaner, and they began to win more late-round situations. After trading rounds through the middle stages of the map, Envy pulled ahead by capitalizing on EG’s economic gaps and punishing overextensions. The adjustments paid off, allowing Envy to close the map and level the series.

The decider on Bind saw Envy fully seize momentum. They established an early lead and dictated the pace with disciplined map control and decisive executes. While Evil Geniuses attempted to claw their way back, Envy consistently shut down comeback attempts by winning crucial duels and managing their economy effectively. With confidence growing round by round, Envy closed out the map to complete the reverse and secure the series.

With the win, Envy advance deeper into the upper bracket and send a clear message about their adaptability and mental fortitude. Evil Geniuses, meanwhile, showed promise—particularly in the opening map—but will need greater consistency as they regroup for their next match in the lower side of the bracket.
