Sentinels claim their first win of 2026 with their new roster against the refreshed Evil Geniuses roster with yet another lights out performance from johnqt, who recently moving off of the IGL role, has become a fragging machine for the NA organisation.
The first map took stage on Abyss, where SEN took a strong start to their attack half with their Double Dive Duelist composition alongside the double Initiator allowing for dominance of the map and complete control when taking the sites. They ended the first half 9-3 with their calm and composed look on the map. They then closed out the map 13-8 with Evil Geniuses not being allowed a step into the series despite some hero plays from bao.
The second map was Pearl, where Evil Geniuses seemed much more comfortable running their own Double Dive Duelist composition, mirroring the SEN composition. This map came down to individualistic skill.
EG took the first half 7-5 on their defense against the fearless N4RRATE who dove into sites for his team, allowing johnqt and Reduxx to clean up after him if he couldn’t close out the site. The second half however, was dominated by SEN. More specifically johnqt on the Astra was able to completely shut down EG’s site advances and allowed for a 13-5 map win, securing the series 2-0.

johnqt took the helm of topfrag for this series after year of playing with players like TenZ and zekken, it was finally his time to step up and frag out for the NA organisation.
SEN will now go on to face off against 100 Thieves, setting up their yearly knock-out battle where SEN have historically come out on top. However, EG will now have to wait until January 31st for their series against LOUD, who have also gone 0-2 during VCT Americas Kick-off.
