RRQ claimed a 2-0 victory over DFM in their first VCT Pacific Kick-Off series, delivering a strong message to the competition, no changes and they are still as good as last year. The series opened with DFM taking a strong defense half ending the first half of Haven 8-4. However, RRQ awoke something on the second half and after losing Pistol and Bonus, they won 9 straight rounds to take the first map 13-10.
Map 2 went to Corrode, where RRQ carried their momentum taking the first 10 rounds, meaning that RRQ won 19 rounds in a row against the Japanese side. DFM did fight back however, winning the final 2 of the half, ending their attack half 10-2. This however, seemed too much of a hill to climb back for DFM.
They then actually lost the Pistol, Buy round and Bonus on DFM’s attack, however they had an eco of their own and carried that round into a map win of 13-5.

Kushy took the top of the leaderboard for this series, which normally belongs to Jemkin of RRQ. Despite Meiy having a strong series on the Yoru, he wasn’t enough to carry them to a win.
RRQ will now look ahead to facing the VCT Pacific’s best team in Paper Rex on the 31st of January giving them a 6 day break to prepare for the series. DFM will now look ahead to their series against Team Secret on the 29th of January and will hope to bounce back and take one step further to their first International event of Franchising.
