FURIA’s exceptional start to 2026 carries on here with yet another win. This time, they defeat G2 Esports, who managed to dominate VCT Americas so much last year by taking home all three domestic trophies.
Map one for this series went to Abyss, where FURIA opted for a single duelist composition, where alym was backed up by a double initiator, double controller, allowing him freedom to take space and dominate the map. G2, on the other hand, went to a double duelist comp with JAWGEMO returning to Jett and BABYBAY going to Yoru.
Unfortunately for G2, the double initiator, double controller composition was much more impressive, and took so much control, that the double duelist wasn’t able to get much out of Abyss, ending 13-7 in the favour of FURIA, spelling trouble for G2.
Bind was a different story however, with both teams switching up their approach to the map, composition wise. G2 went for a solo Waylay, with BABYBAY back onto Chamber, which allowed for a more static defence, allowing FURIA to peek into G2 with the Chamber able to just mow them down.
G2 took Bind 13-6, securing a third map on Split, where both teams were neck and neck taking their map picks comfortably going into the last map.
Despite being quite evenly matched so far, it was FURIA who came out swinging on the final map. They started on the attack side with a double duelist composition, whereas G2 went for a solo Duelist waylay with BABYBAY back onto Viper.
FURIA stormed through the first half gaining a 9-3 lead and setting up a strong advantage going into their defence side. It was koalanoob who shined on their defence side where FURIA were able to close out going 13-3, confirming their spot in the first final of VCT Americas, knocking G2 Esports down a peg.

FURIA’s Masters Santiago dream is now just one game away. They will face off against MIBR, who just defeated world champions, NRG. Meanwhile, G2 will drop to the Middle bracket to face off against Cloud9 who defeated ENVY 2-1, with their sub player, Demon1, who will not be with them to face G2.
