100 Thieves delivered a composed and clinical performance, shutting out Evil Geniuses in a 2–0 series win in the VCT Americas Kick-Off Lower Bracket. While the scoreline suggests a clean sweep, both maps were fiercely contested, with 100T closing out both maps by 1-2 rounds each time.

The series opened on Haven, and from the first pistol round it was clear neither team would give an inch. 100 Thieves leaned into structured defaults, patiently working for map control before closing onto sites with layered utility in their double controller composition. Evil Geniuses responded with proactive defensive pushes that didn’t go in their favour at all.

At halftime, the score was 10-2, looking out of reach for EG. However, they found impact through aggressive retakes and mid-round adjustments during their attack half. However, 100T’s discipline in late rounds proved decisive. Winning two crucial post-plant situations in the closing stretch in round 19-20 putting the series to 12-8, 100 Thieves edged ahead and closed the map 13–11, taking the early series advantage.

Bind brought even more tension. EG came out swinging, dictating the pace with explosive executes and faster site hits with their double duelist composition. Their attacking half showcased improved coordination, frequently catching 100T’s rotations off guard with dgzin now on the Yoru, swapping roles with Okeanos, who earlier in the tournament was on the Yoru.

But 100 Thieves refused to fold. Cryo on the Chamber held firm in high-pressure situations, and his AWP usage consistently forced EG into uncomfortable fights, where they lost the majority of them. The teams traded rounds deep into regulation, with neither able to secure match point cleanly.

The map ultimately spilled into overtime, where composure separated the two sides. 100T tightened their defensive setups and executed a near-flawless attacking round to secure the 15–13 victory, sealing the series 2–0.

100 Thieves demonstrated superior late-round decision-making, converting pivotal 1vX scenarios across both maps under their new leadership and IGL. Mid-series adjustments on Bind helped 100T neutralize EG’s fast-paced executes.

With this win, 100 Thieves continue building momentum in the VCT Americas stage, showcasing a balanced blend of structure and firepower. They will go on to face the winner of Cloud9 and LEVIATAN. Evil Geniuses, meanwhile, will look to refine their late-game execution as they regroup for Stage 1, where they should look to keep their roster the same, showing with a small change, they were able to challenge 100 Thieves in this series.
