Global Esports delivered one of their most resilient performances of the season, battling back from a map down to defeat Gen.G 2–1 in a gripping VCT Pacific showdown. The series had everything with overtime pressure, momentum swings, and clutch heroics. GE ultimately proving steadier in the deciding moments.
Gen.G struck first on Breeze, setting the pace with assertive mid control and sharp opening duels. Their defensive setups consistently disrupted Global’s default play, forcing late-round site hits with limited time on the clock.
Despite falling behind early, Global Esports showed flashes of brilliance on their attacking side, stringing together a late run to push the map into overtime. However, Gen.G’s composure under pressure stood out. Two decisive rounds highlighted by clean retakes and disciplined crossfires secured the 15–13 win and the 1–0 series lead.
Facing elimination pressure, Global Esports responded with a much more structured approach on Abyss. Their defensive half was particularly impressive, shutting down Gen.G’s early-round aggression with proactive utility and tight site anchoring against a double duelist composition.
Global’s duelist, Autumn, found more space this time around, converting opening picks into round wins and stabilizing the economy. While Gen.G attempted to claw back momentum in the second half, Global maintained control, closing the map 13–11 to even the series at 1–1.
The decider on Haven was tense from start to finish. Both teams traded blows through the first half, with neither able to establish a significant lead. Gen.G leaned into fast executes, looking to overwhelm rotations, while Global prioritized map control and late-round site hits.
The turning point came midway through the second half when Global secured back-to-back clutch rounds that shattered Gen.G’s economy. From there, Global slowed the tempo, playing patiently and capitalizing on mistakes. With measured executes and disciplined defensive holds, they closed Haven 13–11 to complete the reverse sweep.

With the 2–1 victory, Global Esports advance further into the VCT Pacific Kick-Off bracket, building momentum at a crucial stage of the competition. For Gen.G, the loss will sting — particularly after such a strong start — but the narrow margins suggest they remain a dangerous contender moving forward ahead to Stage 1 with this shock early exit from the Masters Shanghai winning side.
