One step closer to Masters Santiago with this win, Paper Rex have their eyes set on that final Masters Slot from VCT Pacific Kick-Off after a rough start to the tournament has left them in the Lower Bracket having to play an end of the line series every time they play at the moment.

The series opened on Corrode, with Global Esports starting on the defence half with an incredibly defensive composition with Sage, Veto, Omen, Fade and Waylay. This composition had an incredible defensive structure, but it was clear that the attack side would be very difficult with the just Waylay able to enter the site. Paper Rex opted for a double duelist composition with something debuting a Waylay and Jinggg on the Phoenix.

As assumed, Global Esports took a 9-3 lead on their defensive half, however, it left little to no worries for Paper Rex, knowing that the composition was made for Defence. Paper Rex manged to dominate their Defence half, ending the map 13-10 the favour of the Masters Toronto winners.

Breeze was the destination for the second map, with a much more one sided map. Global Esports switched up their composition from their Veto/ Yoru that they have been running all Kick-Off to a Chamber/ Neon duo with Autumn switching to Chamber and UdoTan on the Neon.

This must’ve surprised Paper Rex, with them only managing 6 rounds on Breeze before GE were able to take the series to Split with a 13-6 finish setting up a nailbiter series.

On Split, GE once again, switched their comp to a mirror of Paper Rex’s composition with the Yoru/ Raze instead of their Double controller with Veto/ Yoru.

Despite the composition switch-up, it seemed Paper Rex felt more accustomed to this composition with it being very popular, and them running it for nearly a year now. They managed to take a 8-4 lead at the half, however, in mirror comp style, Global Esports matched that scoreline and brought it to OT.

Paper Rex managed to close the map out 14-12 despite the heroics of Kr1stal and PatMen on their defence half, it was a team effort from Paper Rex that allowed them to advance once again in this Lower Bracket series with their Masters Santiago hopes on the line.

PatMen, once again, topped the leaderboard in this series against his former team, giving some hope to GE’s future if they can activate their star players, UdoTan and Autumn alongside PatMen like they have been all kick-off long.

With this win, Paper Rex set up, yet another, an RX derby against DRX, where DRX have the most recent win but going back in history, Paper Rex have their number. This time, both teams are fighting for survival with their chances of Masters Santiago coming down to this series.
