For the first time in history, the Boo brothers came to blows and it was the younger brother, MiniBoo to come out on top with a confident 2-0 victory.

Map 1 took place on Abyss where Heretics brought out the Veto for the first time alongside a Wo0t Waylay, showing why they were comfortable enough to float Abyss after their shocking showing on it last time they played this map.

Heretics started the map strong, snowballing the pistol into a bonus round with the Veto pick seemingly hard to deal with, especially due to no prep against it until kamo stepped up on their eco round with just a sheriff taking down the entire team. That pretty much summed up the first half for Liquid, individual rounds able to bring them momentum into 6 rounds at the half with kamo starring.

The second half told a completely different story however, with Team Liquid on the front foot getting it up to 9-11 and kamo continued to hold his form. They managed to close out 13-11 and kamo dropped 29 kills on that first half.

Map 2 took place on Bind with Liquid running a Neon/ Waylay double duelist with MiniBoo on his comfort role against his former team. With kamo’s first map, it was destined for greatness having him on a dive duelist for this map.

It started off with an incredible round from Liquids IGL, nAts, in a 1v3 clutch setting themselves up for a snowball of 10 rounds in a row on their attack side before comeback could get a 2v1 to secure a round on the board.

The momentum carried out through the entire map with Liquid taking Bind 13-3 and eliminating the EWC winners out of EMEA Kick-Off early on.

With the win, Liquid go into another series where they will face off against the loser of FNATIC vs Team Vitality which will take place tomorrow. On the other side, Heretics will now have to wait until Stage 1 where they will look to regain their past form.
