After a rough start to 2026, going out of Americas Kick-Off in ninth and tenth place against LEVIATAN, it seems that changes had to be made, and the first wave of them came with the signing of a new head coach, Ewok.

The below tweet came from Rob Moore, CEO of Sentinels, announcing the signing of Ewok and the simultaneous departure of Kaplan from their roster after a 4-year tenure with the organisation, with 2 of those years at the Head Coach role, bringing home a Masters Trophy and a dominant regional performance alongside G2 Esports lat year in 2025.

Alongside the news of a new Head Coach, Rob Moore also included a few phrases that caught the eye of readers.

‘Sentinels has announced its first phase of changes to the VALORANT roster.’

With this information, many fans were expecting changes to the roster to be announced and so far nothing has been officially announced, however, Rob Moore went onto Tarik’s twitch stream where he spoke about the changes happening to the roster.

A few things to note from Rob Moore on the livestream are:

  • Sentinels did not see eye to eye with Kaplan.
  • Kaplan wanted zekken off duelist and johnqt removed from IGL. Kaplan only wanted to keep Zellsis & N4RRATE.
  • Because of this, Sentinels did not pursue a contract renewal with Zekken.
  • JohnQT has returned to IGL again.
  • SEN are starting trials on Tuesday for new players.
  • Two roster changes expected. Kyu guaranteed out, N4RRATE possibly questionable.
  • Rob said he would bring TenZ back if he just said the word, he always has a place at Sentinels
  • Players apparently had no hope of a major win.
  • There was a 3 hour window where Tarik would’ve faced FURIA instead of Kyu due to border controls.

VCT Americas stage 1 begins on April 10th where Sentinels will look to debut their new roster after revamping mostly from their Kick-Off roster.
