The Masters Toronto winners, Paper Rex, take down G2 in a statement series, ending it quickly and dominant proving that their opening series of the year was just a composition issue, with Paper Rex looking in Prime form after this dismantling of the Americas 2nd Seed, G2 Esports.

Paper Rex started slow on Split, however, it didn’t take long for them to gain momentum and carry that momentum into the rest of the map, allowing for them to close out their first half on defence, 8-4 despite losing the Pistol and the bonus round.

They then carried this momentum into the second half allowing them to close out the series 13-9 with some rounds going the way of G2, despite leaf putting up 20 kills on the Viper, it wasn’t enough to stop the VCT Pacific 3rd seed from taking control of the map.

Map 2 went to Corrode, where Paper Rex switched up their composition to allow f0rsakeN to add yet another agent to his pool. A ballsy move to pull at a Masters Event against one of the favourites of the tournament.

It seems, no matter the agent, f0rsakeN still performs to a world class level, putting up incredible numbers on his Viper Debut.

Paper Rex closed out Corrode comfortably, ending the series with a 13-5 second map. A lot of the credit went to the debut Viper with a 23/11 KD on his first time playing the agent. Similar to what he did with the Veto on Pearl against RRQ in VCT Pacific.

f0rsakeN, once again, topped the leaderboard with an incredible 41 frags across the controller role, with one of those controller agents being a first-time Viper. BABYBAY had a rough time this series on the Waylay, with notbeing able to get much impact despite winning 4 opening duels across the series.

With this win, Paper Rex will go into the upper side of the swiss stage with a 1-0 record, whilst G2 will drop to the lower side where they will face a loser of the opening series of Masters Santiago.
