Masters Santiago has begun with some controversy after the first set of matches have concluded.
Riot Games made the decision to go back on their live draw that took place on stream after the Team Liquid 2-0 Victory over T1. They drew the teams from a few different areas where the teams are inside of balls. They were chosen at random with the first ball being the 1-0 series and the second team being the 1-0 team on the opposite series.
However, with this live draw, the first team drew was Paper Rex, followed by Gentle Mates who were assumed to go into the other series, but they went into the slot where they would face off against Paper Rex.
This was done and the match-ups were as follows:

Paper Rex vs Gentle Mates
NRG vs Team Liquid
0-1 Teams
G2 vs EDward Gaming
Xi Lai Gaming vs T1
The announcement of the re-draw came from Leo Faria at 10:38pm local time, where most teams coaching staff were already deep into their preparation for their series and had to cancel all of it.
Most teams aren’t very happy with the outcome of this and rightly so, with teams having ideas that take time, and now have 5 hours less time to prepare for the series.

The first series will be Paper Rex vs NRG taking place tomorrow first followed by the Gentle Mates vs Team Liquid Series.
The 0-1 Bracket Series will take place the following day.
