After the statement of BBL lovers rock: “I’m not sure if EMEA is better than NA, but BBL is better than NA”, BBL Esports go out of Masters Santiago after losing back-to-back series against the two NA sides at the tournament NRG and G2.
G2 started off the series on a heater on Haven with an incredible 11-1 half on their attack utilising the Chamber, Yoru, Phoenix composition that was made popular by Paper Rex in the Off-Season.
They cleaned up the map and took Haven 13-5, marking a statement map win in the series which foreshadowed the ending, forcing BBL to try and re-coup for map 2.
This series was jawgemo’s playground it seemed like, after a lights out 25-13 first map on Phoenix, he turned his agent pool to Neon where he is most comfortable alongside the BABYBAY Yoru on Breeze.
It wasn’t as good of a start as it was on Haven, with a 6-6 half all tied up, however, with a Jett/ Yoru on attack, a lot of the pressure lands onto the Jett which in this series was Lar0k.
It seemed that G2 understood exactly how BBL wanted to play on Breeze attack side, managing to shut down site takes, controlling the map and holding choke points with confidence.
This eventually ended with a 13-8 map win for G2, marking the end of BBL’s Masters Santiago run and a strong message sent by G2.

With this win, G2 will go into the Lower Round 3 where they will await the winner of Paper Rex vs All Gamers to face off in a must win series where the loser goes out of Masters Santiago in 4th place.
