G2 Esports Take Down T1 in a series where it was all on the line. The winner advances to play-offs and the loser is eliminated from Masters Santiago. It turns out, the VCT Americas 2nd seeded side takes the win.

This match was a rematch of the Masters Bangkok Grand Final, where T1 got the upper edge of G2, taking the series 3-2 to claim their first ever international trophy.

Map 1 took place on Breeze, where G2 steam rolled past T1, with a 13-6 scoreline. It was the combination of jawgemo on the Neon and BABYBAY on the Yoru following up on the space maker that completely overwhelmed T1’s defence with a poor showing from their traditional composition of Yoru/Jett/ Viper/ Sova/ Astra.

Map 2 went to Haven which was much more tightly contested from the Korean side, allowing them to take a strong 10-2 lead at the half. However, the tenacity and experience from the side of G2 was enough to turn the tables at the half time and use their double duelist, chamber composition to overrun and take over their attack side with Trent on the fade dropping a ridiculous 21-5 KD on just their attack half.

G2 managed one of the greatest comebacks of all time by bringing it back to 12-12 with 9 back-to-back rounds taking the series to 11-10 to eventually take it to overtime where G2 took the series 16-14 with Trent starring in the overtime series dropping 32 total kills on Fade.
